Trinity of Games: The Miniatures

So, what’s next then? Well, if you’ve taken the trouble of reading the title, you’ll know.

I’ll wait if you haven’t. Go on. Read the title.

So, this’ll be about the models for three different games.

No, I’m not going to review all of them. I’m going to look at some of what I consider to be the best and the crappiest of the models for each system. Yes, it will be arbitrary. Yes, some might disagree with me.

Tough Luck.

HORDES

You know when I said “three games” up there before the break? I lied. It’s four. Kinda.

Hordes has a different aesthetic than the GW games I’ve “grown up” with. In general, I consider the Warbeasts to be the strength of each faction (except Everblight) with the infantry being the weak spot. Seriously, there’s a lot of crap Privateer infantry out there.

There are exceptions, of course, but I consider Warbeast models (and the distinctly semi-Warbeast Gatormen) to be the best models released by Privateer, to date.

So without further ado:

The best.

Minion Gatormen and other Crocodiles:
One of the guys at the club had it right: You can't go wrong with Disney.

Trollblood Dire Troll Mauler:
With a face even his mother must be hesitant to love, and a pose that says " I just want a hug", I love this guy. The throwing helps.

Everblight Mouth-tails (no, they’re not really called that. Yes, I’m gonna stick with Mouth-tails):
They're ugly. They're cute. What more do you want?

Circle Treemen (or whatever the Woodelves of Orboros call them):
He whacks things. He might also be good at croquet. But mostly, he whacks things.

The worst.

Elf (Nyss) infantry:

Eeer... What? Those are not elves. I don't know what they are, but it's not elves.

Feral Warpwolf:
It looks uncannily like the GW Blood Bowl Werewolf. That one's kinda crap too...

Shadowhorn Satyr:
Come on. Seriously?

And…
I also don’t like many of the Everblight Warbeasts. Or the Skorne Infantry. But I won't go to the trouble of putting pictures of those here. (And if there was any doubt, none of these pictures are mine. They're all from Privateer Press' homepage).

And now I’ve realized this is going to have to be split up.

Tune in next week (or whenever I can be bothered) for the beat-down of Warmachine.

Ta.
